How to be a registered pharmacist in Sweden (Degree outside the EU or EEA)

If you are a pharmacist, thinking to work as a pharmacist in Sweden and your degree is from outside the EEA or EU, this article is for you.Sweden is an economically developed country and one of least crime country in the world. The scope for a pharmacist in Sweden is great but you need to be registered first.My this article is for those people who want to be a registered pharmacist in Sweden.I will try my best to give you step by step information about the total process.

If you have a bachelor degree, apply for prescriptionist license and the master's degree holder can apply for pharmacist license.The whole process will be conducted Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare, they are the licensing authority for pharmacist and others health science professional in Sweden.

1.Frist of all you need to apply for an assessment application for recognition of your degree, in this section you need to submit all your educational document and training document that you have received from your home country or abroad.The board will check your document and give you a result whether you need any further training or not.

2.Once the board will notify you about their completion, you need a seat for an exam for your assessment.  The exam comprises both theoretical and practical part.you need to pass that successfully

3.When you get a positive result from the assessment test, then you can apply for course for
Swedish laws and regulations from local university or institutions.You need to successfully complete this course.

4. You need to also undergo a practical training under a registered clinical pharmacist in hospital or community level. 


5. Once your education has been assessed by the authority, you need to apply for language proficiency test, practice in community level you need to be fluent in the Swedish language.So it is better to do a Swedish language course up to at least B2 level.Then apply for the proficiency test.

6.When you have successfully completed all these steps, you are ready to apply for registration.
