Avoid food with TB Drugs

According to WHO, tuberculosis is one of top ten cause of death around the world. The statics  says  there were 10.4 million people fell ill with tuberculosis in the year of 2015 and  1.8 million people was died .The first line and second line of the tubercular drug is used treat tuberculosis .There are more than 12 drugs has been developed that ensure 100% cure for tuberculosis. But if the tubercular drug is taken with food the drug plasma concentration and it’s bioavailability is reduced .Dr. Saktiawati presented a study result at European respiratory society in 2014, the study was done  on 20 patient among them 8 were woman .They were receiving the standard combination of  isoniazid, rifampicin, pyrazinamide, and ethambutol (EMB).On day 1 all drugs are administered intravenously expect pyrazinamide .The pyrazinamide was given orally The study continued up to 3 days using same dosage regimen .When the drug was given the patient were fasting after the treatment they were given meal with high carbohydrate .The researcher collected their blood sample and analyzed those sample in the mass spectroscopy to calculate the maximum plasma concentration curve.The researcher concluded with  plasma centration was lower when the medicine was taken together with food.
